In February, Father Dariusz announced that he would be leaving Our Lady Help of Christians on Divine Mercy Sunday and moving on to pastures new, following a long and much deserved sabbatical.
After receiving 14 years of wonderful and faithful service at Our Lady’s, parishioners were not going to allow this to happen without marking the occasion with a bang.
A Thanksgiving Mass was held on Friday 22nd April followed by a celebratory party in the parish hall. Thanksgiving and Celebrations continued on Sunday with Fr Dariusz celebrating three masses followed by refreshments in the parish hall to give parishioners an opportunity to say a fond farewell. We thank all those parishioners who contributed to the mass and celebrations afterwards.
Those wishing to do a final confession with Fr Dariusz had their opportunity during the Divine Mercy service.
A final question to Fr Dariusz, dealt with a matter that had perplexed him for fourteen years, when raised by parishioners “What time is Midnight Mass?’
Our Lady Help of Christians thanks God and Fr Dariusz for fourteen years of unstinting service to our Parish.
We are also grateful that Bishop David has already arranged a new priest to join us in June but in the meantime, we remain in the capable hands of the Assistant Priest.
